[#1 Hookshot]
by Clayton Wakefield Date Added: Sunday 18 November, 2012
The first time that I ever held a # Hookshot in my hands, it was love at first sight (or feel, anyway). I have a whole lot of different discs that I practice with (Latitudes, Innovas, Gateways, Arrobie, Vibrim, Etc) but the ones that I play are the Lightnings, specifically the #1 Hookshot. It is the all around best one disc to shoot the entire course with. The #1 Hookshot is three discs rolled into one. It makes a really great driver. It's overstable flight path is very easy to control. It is the first disc that I have encountered (I am a newbie with just 5 months playing disc golf) that I can actually WILL to go left, WILL to go straight and WILL to go right, on command. It makes a fantastic mid range disc, and has given me several Birdies of over 100 feet. It also makes a really good putter, and will hyzer right into the basket if thrown correctly. This disc feels really good in my hands, and Lightning's standard plastic is quite durable. It is similar to Innova DX, but has (in my opinion) a much better grip. The heavier models tend to be more overstable than the lighter ones, and the very light ones float in water. I don't care what other discs you have in your bag, or how many how many discs you have, EVERY bag out there needs at least one #1 Hookshot. Get yours today!

Disc Golf (also known as "Frisbee Golf" and "Folf" or "Frolf" and even "Disk Golf") is played much like traditional golf. Players throw flying discs (golf discs or Frisbees®) from a tee area toward a Disc Golf Basket or Target. The object: complete the hole by putting your golf disc in the basket in the fewest number of throws. Formalized in the 1970s, disc golf is governed by the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). There are more than 1,750 disc golf courses worldwide, with over 1,400 in the USA.
